“Hello everybody, I’m Bill Mercer, and welcome to World Class Championship Sports, the major league of professional wrestling! Tonight we have a wonderful main event featuring brothers Kevin and Mike Von Erich teaming up to battle the team of “The Handsome Halfbreed” Gino Hernandez, and Jake “The Snake Roberts!”
In a bout that got the show off to a strong start and had great wrestling with good heat, Billy Jack Haynes and Kerry Von Erich defeated Chris Adams and Randy Savage when Billy Jack Haynes submitted Randy Savage with a Full Nelson!
Back at the World Class studios, Bill Mercer is sitting in a leather chair across from new World Class star, Billy Jack Haynes. Mercer asks Billy Jack what his plans are for his tenure in World Class Championship Wrestling, and Billy Jack comes across as humble and modest about his ambitions. He wants to be the best wrestler he can be, win as many belts as he can, and be a champion of the people if they would be gracious enough to accept him as their own. Mercer follows up by asking how he compares to fellow newcomer Randy Savage, who has become another hot name in World Class wrestling... Billy Jack thinks momentarily and smiles with his response in stating Savage is a much different wrestler than he is and he sees no comparison between the two…
The Fabulous Freebirds cut a promo on the Rock N' Roll Express ahead of their match scheduled for the January Star Wars! Hayes, yelling at Bill Mercer, claimed the Rock N' Roll Express, "don't know nothin' about rockin' and rollin', brother!" He says the Freebirds are the original kings of wrestling, the original rock and roll wrestling superstars, and that the RNR Express are just a bunch of Freebird wannabes! And if they want a rematch at Star Wars, they're going to get more than they bargained for!
In a decent match, The Midnight Express defeated Iceman King Parsons and Jose Lothario in 7:24 when Bobby Eaton pinned Jose Lothario with The Rocket Launcher after Jim Cornette interfered.
The entire Von Erich family, including the patriarch Fritz Von Erich, stand with Bill Mercer to give the fans an update on the return of their older brother David. Fritz leads things off and informs the viewers that David arrived late last night from his long flight directly from Japan. He is at home resting but will be ready to compete Sunday at Star Wars! Kevin says he has never been more excited for a match in his life, and cannot wait to get back into the ring with his brother, David! Kerry chooses to give his opinion on their opponents at the upcoming Star Wars event, Chris Adams, Gino Hernandez, and Jake Roberts... he calls them cowards and low lifes, with no future ahead of them both in the ring and out! Mike shares his excitement for the January Star Wars event, and hopes to see all the fans there.
In a bout that had good heat and decent wrestling, Kevin and Mike Von Erich defeated Gino Hernandez and Jake Roberts by DQ when Gino Hernandez took Jake’s briefcase and wailed Mike Von Erich over the head with it repeatedly! As the referee called for the bell, Roberts ran from behind and grabbed his briefcase back, yelling at Gino for taking it. Hernandez has some choice words to share, but are soon ran out of the ring by Kevin Von Erich, still hot from the loss in front of all his fans!
In a decent match that got the crowd hot and the show off to a strong start, Chris Adams defeated Terry Taylor in 8:50 by submission with a Sleeperhold after interference by his manager Gary Hart.
In a poor match that got the crowd hotter purely based on Rick Rude's heel antics, yet also featured great chemistry between both men, Rick Rude defeated Owen Hart in 6:31 by pinfall after using a foreign object.
In a poor match, The Missing Link defeated Rick Steiner in 7:27 by submission with a Figure Four Leg-Lock.
In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Iceman King Parsons defeated Kelly Kiniski in 11:38 by pinfall with a Rumper Stumper.
In a bout that had good heat and decent wrestling, Gino Hernandez defeated Mike Von Erich in 9:53 by pinfall after Andrea the Lady Giant interfered. Gino Hernandez makes defence number eight of the NWA Texas Heavyweight title.
In a bout that had superb wrestling and great heat, Kevin and Kerry Von Erich defeated The Fabulous Freebirds in 12:48 when Michael Hayes was disqualified when Jake Roberts ran in and attacked Kerry Von Erich!
